In line with HCO’s commitment to keep it’s clients free from violence and abuse, on the 16th January staff from the South Australian Council on Intellectual Disability (SACID) presented their ‘Staying Safe’ workshop.
The workshop explores how people can stay staff in their home, service, workplace and community. The central theme is to give people the information and skills they need to speak up if they are not feeling safe.
The session was very well received by the participants and they are keen to be involved in more SACID workshops over this year.
HCO has also commenced a “Speaking UP” group as part of our Community Access Semester 1 program, so this was a great start to the year for this group.
