An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Team Leader in the disability sector. This rare opportunity is available full time with hours varying from day to day, rostered between 7:00am and 6:30pm.

In this role, you will utilise your well-developed organisational and leadership skills to guide and support a team delivering high-quality, person-centred services to people with disability. You will play a key role in ensuring services are delivered in a culturally appropriate environment, supporting individuals to achieve their personal goals.

This Level 4 position is based in Mt Barker and offers an excellent opportunity to build leadership capability while contributing to positive outcomes for all workers and HCO clients.

Key responsibilities:

  • Manage the daily operations of support services, including the provision of formal supervision, mentoring, team meetings, internal training and management of a team of Level 2 & 3 Disability Support Workers.

  • To provide and demonstrate to all DSW’s, Person Centred Active Support for clients, in a manner that allows full expression of their individual choice and preference.

  • To ensure the preparation of clients’ daily schedules.

  • With the Client Services Lead, undertake investigations and actions, manage conflict, provide coaching, develop capacity and opportunities and address performance issues within your team.

  • Where required provide direct assistance and support to people with disability.

The successful applicant will have:

  • A Certificate IV in Disability / Mental Health or equivalent or be working towards one
  • Current DHS Working with Children and NDIS Worker Screening Clearance
  • Current First Aid/CPR certificates
  • Current SA Drivers licence.
  • Health Support Training certificate (Assist with Medication, Basic Continence and Infection control)
  • Manual Handling certificate which includes lifter training
  • Infection Control certificate
  • NDIS Worker certificates
  • Willingness to participate in an on-call roster
  • Evidence of up-to-date COVID vaccination status
